From 10pm until 6am there was a party taking place on land/property near which was a problem. This isn’t the organisers fault but wonder if Beaulieu staff were made aware in advance or not.
From what I could see, many did what I did, took full advantage of the location and did their own thing during the day and evening. Also looking on their media pages there isn’t much comms when people asked any questions. So don’t really know if I missed anything good. I was given some details when I arrived but didn’t explain or offer any details on any itineraries. I think the event could have been better organised. After all it was only 1h away from home and great value. To be fair I only came here to introduce my youngest to sleeping in a van and explore the grounds and museum. Now the disappointment was the so called VW T CHILL. What’s wrong with the old plate? If you love cars, gardens and have kids, this is a great place to come. Why are the pizzas being ordered to eat in being delivered in a box? For a business focusing on being green, this isn’t the right. Myself and my 7 year old spent all day exploring the estate. Plenty to see with some new additions, the gardens were in full swing and looking amazing. The grounds and the museum were as good as ever. I came here for the weekend as part of the VW T CHILL. They displayed car related toys in the museum, but putting Lightening McQueen in a glass cabinet or a Little Tykes Cosy Coupe out for display purposes only is boring for kids. They are missing a trick by not engaging with the little ones more. Overall, there was nice mix but I felt it could be better. In here there are a few kids ride-on’s which you have to pay extra for so bring lots of £1 & 50p coins. We then saw the Top Gear exhibition/tent and then the ‘cars on screen’ tent, which houses Mr Bean’s car and Ron Weasley’s car, among others. There is nothing interactive for them to do part from sittting on the lower level of an old bus. The museum has a very good collection of cars and motorbikes but the kids loss a bit of interest at this point. There were plenty of picnic tables to eat lunch at and afterwards the kids played in the playground called ‘little beaulieu’. The kids enjoyed it but there was quite a long queue up several flights of stairs so tricky to keep the little one entertained. It lasts around 10mins for a loop of the park and is good to get your bearings. When we got inside, one of the first attractions you see is the monorail. The admission for all of us was over £100. We came here with 4 kids ranging from 7yrs to 2yrs and 2 grandparents.
